Where to begin?

Alright. I’m finishing my last year of marketing in school and for about the last year I’ve decided I really would love to be an entrepreneur of some sort but am having a very difficult time thinking of an idea. I’ve been writing down different ideas o…

how can I capitalize my Quora traffic (100,000+ answer views/mo)?

Title says it all. I know you’re probably thinking, what a waste of fucking potential conversions, opt-ins, etc.

I started writing on Quora a while back when I completed some self-assessments and realized that I was pretty dissatisfied with my life. Did some research and created a personalized therapy program which included helping people / adding value in some way 30 mins a day, turns out I ended up getting into writing a bit and I enjoy it, but would like to capitalize on it and I’m not sure how.

Topics are pretty broad but usually related to modern business / entrepreneurship/tech and self-improvement, knowledge, discovery, and general life.

Anyone used Shopify and how does it work?

I saw a video about how to set it up. You can create your own page and decide what you want to sell. They even had an app where you automatically import the products into the page from the supplier. My question remains is, how does the buying and selli…

Bought a typewriter as a fun purchase and ended up with a small business!

I’m a lover of all old things. Always wanted a typewriter and one weekend I watched the documentary California Typewriter and I just had to have one. Bought one that same night. Old 1940s Smith Corona, beautiful piece of machinery. Had some sticky keys that I fixed with some mineral spirits but besides that, in perfect working condition. Replaced the ribbon and started typing away. I’m also a writer so I love quotes as you can imagine. Thought about making nice little framed quote prints on some nice linen cardstock to hang around my place. Friend of mine saw it and said he’d pay me for one and I realized there’s probably a market for this. Went on Etsy and lo’ and behold, there was. There were already plenty of sellers doing this sort of thing but I didn’t let that discourage me. It was basically free money and I had the mentality of not needing the whole pie but just a piece of it. I launched my shop in January and I’m not exactly breaking the bank here but I cover my food expenses every month basically. It’s easy money and I get to use my typewriter a lot. It’s a win-win. Just wanted to share this and let you guys know to be curious and adventures with your hobbies, never know when one could become profitable! Now I get to do what I love and make money with it! Thanks for reading!

The Enneagram – Impressive Tool for self-development

The Enneagram of personality is a versatile and powerful personality typing system. This system has roots in antiquity and can be traced back at least as far as the works of Pythagoras. Each personality type associated with the Enneagram represents a map of traits that highlights patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving. By learning one’s type and the patterns and habits associated with that type, one can use of the Enneagram system as an effective tool for self-understanding and self-development.

Each Enneagram personality type, or style, is based on a pattern of where attention goes. By learning about what kinds of things one habitually attends to and puts energy into, one can observe oneself more accurately and develop more self-awareness. By enhancing one’s self awareness with the help of the Enneagram, one can exercise more choice about one’s functioning rather than engaging in patterns of thought, emotion, and behavior in an automatic, habitual, unconscious way.

The Enneagram symbol and the personality types associated with it have ancient roots. Traces of it can be found in the early mystical forms of many of the world’s spiritual teachings.

Today, knowledge of the Enneagram system is growing all around the world. The insights about human functioning and development are being applied in many varied areas including psychology and psychotherapy, business, the arts, health care, parenting, education, and spiritual growth. The Enneagram system of personality types is being used in many different ways by professionals in many different places all around the world.

To learn more about our personality type, we can use the free tools available on the internet for example this one: http://skyisnolongerthelimit.com which is based on this system. In fact, it’s so powerful that it can seem a little intimidating at first. This is especially true if it is viewed mainly as an indicator of our limitations instead of our potentials.

Dynamic video marketing? How to automate custom videos?

Hi all,

I heard of a product months ago on a podcast (could have been Social Media Examiner or Marketing School) and for the life of me, I can’t find it anywhere.

If I remember correctly, the product allowed you to create video modules and then it would take specific criteria to piece together a custom video for each individual based on their segmentation criteria that match those modules.

Here is the use case that I believe this would help me out with significantly:

We get vastly different people coming to use our SaaS platform and so our different video content has to appeal to everyone, which obviously inherently dilutes the impact of the message. What I’d love to do is use software like this to create a highly customized video experience for each person.

For example, for a 25 year old woman who wants to lose fat, she’d see a video tailored to her gender, age group, and desired goal that would show specific steps, social proof, and language that is most likely to resonate with her.

I realize that we could create a video for every possible permutation of each of the characteristics, but if there is software that would make this more scalable through module-based automated technology, I’d love to keep it efficient and scalable so we can use it in a lot more of our video marketing and onboarding efforts.

Thanks for any ideas on this!

Looking for some people with backpain to coach them and validate my idea

Hi guys,

I was suffering from aches half of my life and worked the last 5 months on figuring out where they come from and how to avoid getting them. My idea is to turn this into a blog and a product later on, but I want to validate my idea first.

If anyone of you is interested, you’ll find a better explanation in a short post I just wrote. Even if you are not interested, feedback is always appreciated!

Revamping a massage therapy business tips?

So I’m helping a friend with her massage therapy business. Originally she had a lot of discounts or promotions and specials in place that was ultimately affecting her profit and she was not making much money. At the moment she has memberships packages in place as well as specials only for members.

The main concern at the moment is her pricing, as it was set low in previous years and she is planning to come back in September with new prices. She offered practitioner rates to people that have used up their benefits for the year and pay out of pocket.

My questions are: – any tips/suggestions in regards to pricing? And how to set it… She offers both mobile in clinic prices as well as member and nonmember prices and practitioner prices as well. How should she set this up so that is easy to understand on the website and not too confusing? -so she offers both regular pricing and membership pricing..in terms of a family she has been giving the whole family the capability to use a person’s membership… She charges a set price per year for her membership. Is this something that is profitable as members have access to packages (eg. 5 sessions at x discounted price) or should she have them buy they’re own membership? ($60 per year) – currently she offers for members $10 off the regular price any service, a $25 gift certificate for themselves, a $20 gift certificate for a friend, and special promotion and discounts that apply only to members. Is that suffice for what she’s charging for A membership, or should we add some additional benefits to make it worth purchasing it for $60 a year?

Thank you advance and need general tips/advice would be appreciated!
